Frequently Asked Questions:
Is
BreakAway relevant to us?
The success of your organization's most important
initiatives is limited by the non-winning thoughts that creep into
your peoples' minds. BreakAway is a non-threatening, innovative way to
elevate thinking, especially in leaders.
Is
BreakAway a message about competition?
Yes. People learn how to be positively engaged in
the highest form of competitive excellence.
What
if I'm not athletic or into sports?
No problem. With such a universal message, it's
often the least sports-minded people who identify most with Tony's
approach. Of course, athletes and sports fans absolutely love it.
Can
BreakAway be our conference theme?
About half of Tony's clients use or incorporate
his racing metaphors into their conference themes and marketing.
How
long has Tony Schiller been speaking?
He got started in 1990, during his stint on the
professional triathlon circuit, and went full-time shortly thereafter.
He's now delivered over 1000 presentations to nearly 400 clients.
Previous
to that?
After graduating from college in 1980, Tony
became a top door-to-door insurance salesman. From there, he sold
business forms for 7 years, and then joined the pro tri-circuit in
1989.
How
often does Tony still compete?
About 10 triathlons a year. His long term goal is
to race in a triathlon in the year 2058 – at age 100.
How
much does Tony train?
About 1-3 hours a day, usually by starting very
early. In total, he swims, bikes, or runs about 500 times a year.
